Listen, your girl loves a solid workout just as much as anyone else. But given the option to exercise or to sleep in an additional 45-ish minutes, I’m obviously opting for the snooze button. The answer to my sleeping-yet-still-want-to-sweat qualm: fitness apps.
If you want to do a quick 15-minute workout in the middle of the night because that’s when it’s most convenient for you, there’s an app for that. No signups or gymtimidation here, ya’ll.

Anna Victoria is one of the leading Instagram “influencers” who wants to make it as easy as possible for you to workout. She offers three different kinds of workouts through her app: Tone, which features strength and cardio, Shred, which focuses on high-intensity body-weight only exercises, and Sculpt, which is designed for gaining strength at the gym.
She also offers members-only Facebook pages and newsletters for FBG girls to connect with other FBG girls as an option to trudge through the workouts and meal plans together.

Emily Skye, an Australian-based fitness model turned personal trainer created plans that allow you to work out from home or venture to a gym. Each plan is comprised of five new workouts a week. Bonus fact: After Emily’s first pregnancy, she actually used her own app to start working out again—and documented it all on her Instagram here.

The rumors are true: These workouts only take seven—yes, seven!!!—minutes. But in the words of my savior Britney Spears, you gotta work, b*tch… even if it’s only seven minutes. The app’s creators say each workout is meant to provide the maximum benefit in the shortest time possible (so yeah, it won’t be easy—but it will be over soon). Set your goal and fitness level to optimize results for the quickest, most effective workout you could ask for.

Yup, this app is brought to you exclusively by Gold’s Gym. It has over 600 indoor and outdoor workouts. Take Your Workout to eBay
A good workout routine starts with the right fitness equipment. Whether you exercise in Zumba classes with your friends, run on a treadmill in your garage or lift weights in your own home gym, you need fitness gear that makes you look and feel your best.
Your Complete Running Store
Some people need a gym full of weight benches, exercise bikes and personal trainers to get motivated to work out. Runners simply need a decent pair of fitness shoes and an open road. No matter how long youve been running, comfortable running clothes are critical to achieving a smooth stride and that illusive “runners high.” Look for clothes made of a wicking material that fit snuggly but arent too tight. Running shoes should be appropriate for your foot type, with stability shoes for a flatter foot and cushioned shoes for a foot with a higher arch.
To log your speed and miles, look for a fitness activity tracker like a running watch, FitBit or Garmin. And dont forget to stretch before and after you run; for maximum comfort during warm up and cool down, a quality exercise mat is a good idea for beginning and experienced runners alike.
Build a Home Gym Without Breaking the Bank
Its hard to make excuses when the gym is right in your basement or garage. Browse eBay for a wide range of fitness equipment so you can build a completely customized home gym. Rowing machines, Bowflex equipment, dumbbells and more—eBay has everything you need to get a full body workout at home. Shop the lowest prices in both new and used fitness equipment. Or if you have some used fitness equipment of your own youd like to unload, sell it on eBay.
Make eBay Your Online Fitness Store
Tired of spending too much for workout equipment in sporting goods and running stores? Its time to take your fitness online. From exercise balls to trampolines, elliptical machines to the Total Gym, eBay has all the exercise equipment you need to get fit and trim for life.
Start the off right by refreshing your style and get gear to support your New Years resolution goals by shopping for fitness, running and yoga equipment to celebrate the New Year.

Here are ten fitness challenges to motivate your group over the biggest hurdle most people encounter when trying to stay on the healthy nutrition and exercise path. Staying motivated. Having a group of friends to keep each other accountable is a great idea. Furthermore, it’s even easier to do now that we can stay connected via e-mail, Facebook etc. If you like these ideas, you may also want to check out The Big Book of 30 Day Challenges.
1. Seven day water challenge: For 7 days, drink your height in water. For example, I’m 64 inches tall so I would drink 64 oz. of water each day. If you don’t drink much water right now, work yourself up by drinking 8 ounces more each week leading up to the challenge.
2. Seven day low sugar challenge: Women should limit added sugar to 24 grams per day. Men should limit added sugar to 36 grams per day. Check the nutrition facts label for sugar. It you are eating fresh fruits and veggies, those are natural sugar. Also, some dairy products also contain natural sugar. You don’t have to count it! Yay.
3. Share one healthy recipe each week: Challenge members to submit a healthy recipe they have tried. The group can vote for their favorite. A secret Facebook group works great for something like this. You could even plan an event where everyone brings a healthy dish with recipes to distribute to group members.
4.Thirty day weight loss percentage challenge. Keep track of the amount of weight you lose for thirty days. The person who loses the highest percentage of his/her body weight is the winner. This is a more fair way to do a weight loss challenge as some members may have more weight to lose than others.
5. Seven day NO (pick two junk foods, like soda and chips) challenge. Group members check in each day to talk about how they are doing and the benefits they are experiencing. A group atmosphere promotes motivating each other and cheering each other’s accomplishments.
6. Thirty day points challenge: Use a 1 pt. multiplier for light exercise, 1.5 pt. multiplier for moderate exercise and a 2 pt multiplier for intense exercise. Multiply the time you exercise by the intensity multiplier. Keep track of your points each day. The person with the most points at the end of 30 days is the winner. You can compete individually or in teams of varying sizes. This seems to be the most popular of the “Ten Fitness Challenges to Motivate Your Group”. You can sign up to download the point tracker right here on my page!
7. Enter an event together: Try a 5K, a Warrior Dash, or a bike

Some gyms across the nation are closing, but that doesn’t mean you can’t workout. Planet Fitness, one of the nation’s largest chain gyms, is offering free online classes starting today, because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The at-home workouts began streaming on the company’s Facebook page March 16. These classes are open to anyone, including non-members.
“Our daily routines have changed in unexpected ways, and we know that people may not be able to get to the gym. That’s why we’re offering a free, daily virtual fitness class for everyone on Planet Fitness’ Facebook page from Monday through Friday,” said Jeremy Tucker, chief marketing officer of Planet Fitness, in a statement to USA TODAY.

The workouts will be live-streamed at 7 p.m. ET each day for the next two weeks. And if you can’t make it live, the workouts will be available on-demand on Facebook and in Planet Fitness’ YouTube channel. No equipment is needed, and the classes last 20 minutes or less.
Tucker said that virtual classes “will be led by Planet Fitness certified trainers, as well as special guests like ‘The Biggest Loser’ coach and fitness trainer Erica Lugo, among others. The home workouts will offer tools to combat stress, while providing motivation and inspiration sure to keep us all physically and mentally fit.”
With President Donald Trump on Monday calling for Americans to avoid social gatherings of more than 10 people, most gyms will feel the impact immediately.
“We are calling this movement ‘United We Move’ because we know that the best way to stay healthy both physically and mentally is to stay active,” added Tucker.
The gym chain has consistently grown its revenue in the past three years, with a total revenue stream of $174.4 million for 2018.

While there’s no “right” way to get sweaty, there’s no question that fitness trends can influence how people work out. And with the American College of Sports Medicine’s annual survey, we’re getting a look at what’s going to be big this year. They’ve pinpointed the top fitness trends of 2018 to watch for, and chances are, if you haven’t gotten in on any of them yet, you just might soon.
Published in the ACSM’s Health & Fitness Journal, more than 4,000 fitness professionals (including trainers, exercise physiologists, and fitness directors) gave their thoughts on the trends they think will be big in 2018. The survey respondents represented organizations including the American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, National Council on Strength and Fitness, and The Cooper Institute. The responses were international, too, coming from 41 countries across the world and nearly every continent.
In the survey, the ACSM made an important distinction between a trend and a fad to the participants. While a trend was defined as “a general development or change in a situation or in the way that people are behaving,” a fad was “a fashion that is taken up with great enthusiasm for a brief period.” (Shout-out to ’80s Jazzercise and ’90s Tae Bo.) For the purposes of this survey, the ACSM was interested in trends, which have more staying power. Survey respondents were asked to rank 40 potential fitness trends on a 10-point scale, where 1 was least likely to be a trend in 2018, and 10 was most likely to be a trend in 2018.
Here are the top 10 fitness trends of 2018, according to the pros—and what you need to know about each one.
1. High-Intensity Interval Training
High-intensity interval training (or HIIT) took the top spot in this year’s survey (it was also number one in 2014). A HIIT training session involves bursts of maximum-effort, very hard work (typically about 20 to 90 seconds), followed by a period of low-intensity recovery. The goal is to recover enough that you can go hard again during your next work interval. If you’re a beginner, you might have longer rest intervals, or work intervals that are challenging but not at maximum effort.
The ACSM says HIIT workouts are typically 30 minutes or less, although they can be longer. But while they may be short, they definitely aren’t sweet. As the name suggests, HIIT workouts are designed to be high intensity, and a major part of the appeal is that they’re an incredibly efficient and effective way to get your cardio in and burn lots of calories (if that’s something that matters to you) without requiring a ton of time.
That said, because they’re so intense, you shouldn’t be doing HIIT workouts every day. This can lead to overtraining and an increased risk of injury (which survey respondents expressed concerns about, according to the ACSM). Read more about how to correctly do HIIT workouts here.
2. Group Training
Group training (or group fitness
