UW receives $2.25 million federal grant to improve dental care for children with special health care needs
June 11, 2020 – The University of Washington’s Department of Pediatric Dentistry has been awarded a $2.25 million federal grant for an ambitious training program to significantly broaden access to dental care for Washington children with special health care needs.
School of Dentistry to expand use of remote patient visits
June 1, 2020 – The University of Washington School of Dentistry has announced the full launch of its Virtual Clinic to serve patients remotely. The clinic, which was created to support the school’s Dental Urgent Care Clinic during the COVID-19 outbreak, will see its use expanded in stages across all of the school’s clinical services.

The recent wave of fatal violence against Black Americans has been unnerving, even terrifying: Ahmaud Arbery, stalked and shot while jogging in Brunswick, Ga.; Breonna Taylor, shot while in bed when police conducted a no-knock raid on the wrong home in Louisville, Ky.; George Floyd, who died in Minneapolis as a police officer knelt on his neck; and Rayshard Brooks, shot to death by an Atlanta police officer.
