The very best group exercise instructors are natural-born artists who teach as a way of life, as a form of creative self-expression. Their artistry inspires us to express our own creative energy. Most great fitness trainers also exhibit an intriguing combination of both divine masculine and divine feminine qualities, irrespective of their gender. Often referred to as Yin and Yang, an instructor who has both can be a confident leader as well as a compassionate friend.

OUR FACILITY
Our gym is centrally located in Seattle between Greenlake and the University of Washington, two blocks from the Roosevelt neighborhood Whole Foods. While we choose to exercise indoors, we honor our Northwest heritage with decor that embraces natural outdoor elements of wood, metal, stone and natural sunlight.

All three studios have sprung floors to reduce joint impact and acoustical ceilings that allow instructor voices to be clearly heard even when music is playing. Each room has state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems for ambience, and our two largest studios have projectors on either side of an elevated instructor stage, displaying the instructor’s image to improve participant sight lines.

We strive to create a respectful space within our classrooms, where clients can focus on doing what makes them healthy and happy. We define success not by how much revenue our business produces, but by how much revenue we are able to reinvest in our employees, our facility, and our client services.

Ten Fitness Challenges to Motivate Your Group

 

Here are ten fitness challenges to motivate your group over the biggest hurdle most people encounter when trying to stay on the healthy nutrition and exercise path. Staying motivated. Having a group of friends to keep each other accountable is a great idea. Furthermore, it’s even easier to do now that we can stay connected via e-mail, Facebook etc. If you like these ideas, you may also want to check out The Big Book of 30 Day Challenges.

Ten Fitness Challenges to Motivate Your Group

Weight loss/food challenges to motivate your group

1. Seven day water challenge: For 7 days, drink your height in water. For example, I’m 64 inches tall so I would drink 64 oz. of water each day. If you don’t drink much water right now, work yourself up by drinking 8 ounces more each week leading up to the challenge.

2. Seven day low sugar challenge: Women should limit added sugar to 24 grams per day. Men should limit added sugar to 36 grams per day. Check the nutrition facts label for sugar. It you are eating fresh fruits and veggies, those are natural sugar. Also, some dairy products also contain natural sugar. You don’t have to count it! Yay.

3. Share one healthy recipe each week: Challenge members to submit a healthy recipe they have tried. The group can vote for their favorite. A secret Facebook group works great for something like this. You could even plan an event where everyone brings a healthy dish with recipes to distribute to group members.

4.Thirty day weight loss percentage challenge. Keep track of the amount of weight you lose for thirty days. The person who loses the highest percentage of his/her body weight is the winner. This is a more fair way to do a weight loss challenge as some members may have more weight to  lose than others.

5. Seven day NO (pick two junk foods, like soda and chips) challenge.  Group members check in each day to talk about how they are doing and the benefits they are experiencing. A group atmosphere promotes motivating each other and cheering each other’s accomplishments.

6. Thirty day points challenge: Use a 1 pt. multiplier for light exercise, 1.5 pt. multiplier for moderate exercise and a 2 pt multiplier for intense exercise. Multiply the time you exercise by the intensity multiplier. Keep track of your points each day. The person with the most points at the end of 30 days is the winner. We use the latest diagnostic procedures, including “digital radiography” – offering patients as much as 80 percent less exposure than conventional x-rays. If you are referred to a specialist, or a consultation is required, your radiographs can be sent instantaneously, via email.

Visiting our office is convenient. We take a late lunch, so you can be seen on your lunch hour. During the summer, we start at 8am on Saturdays, so you can have your dental concerns attended to and still make the beach. We have two late nights and as a patient, you will be given Dr. Fluger’s cell phone number, so even after hours, on weekends or on holidays, you’ll never be out of touch!
